ENLIVEN YOUR COMMUNITY
Mapping New Pathways to Growth, a nine-month, creative, facilitator-training programme in Creative Words for Health & Wellbeing, for volunteers & staff in Glasgow
from March to November 2012

This project will equip you with the skills to inspire creativity in the
people in your local community. You will learn to help local people to
improve their health and well-being by engaging creatively with their
environment. You will enable people to see their environment more
vividly and to respond creatively to it in writing, music and creative arts.
You will then become part of a creative community and will, throughout
the project, develop peer-mentoring skills to keep yourselves producing
work and to inspire others after the project has finished.
Dates for the training programme
2nd,3rd,4th March: A weekend facilitator training in creative words for
health & wellbeing.
Follow-up workshops for supervision and further training:
31st March, 28th April, 26th May, 23rd June, 8th September, 6th October,
3rd November. These will be one-day workshops to support own creative
development and equip you with specific tools to share with your
communities. After each workshop, you will be supported to facilitate
workshops in your own communities using the tools you have just
learned. We will encourage you to work in pairs for peer support and
wider experience.
All training workshops will take place in Glasgow.
There will be opportunities throughout the project to showcase your work
and become involved in the creative community locally and elsewhere in
Scotland, including The Big Tent Festival in Fife (July), the Mental Health
Arts & Film Festival (October), and presentations in local libraries.
