Sustainable Scotland Network Conference 2010

A Step Change: Local Government Leadership for a Low Carbon Economy

Registration is open for the 9th annual Sustainable Scotland Network Conference: A Step Change: Local Government Leadership for a Low Carbon Economy.

About the Conference

Taking place on 4 November at Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, the Sustainable Scotland Network [1] conference will provide delegates with the latest information on the national plan for addressing climate change and highlight the opportunities that climate change action presents for Scotland’s economy, businesses and communities.

The 9th annual SSN conference - supported by the Scottish Government, COSLA [2] and SOLACE Scotland [3] - will explore policy frameworks being developed in response to the Climate Change (Scotland) Act, including the Public Bodies Duty, the Low Carbon Economy Strategy and the Report on Proposals and Policies for meeting annual emissions targets. Critically, the conference will look at the role of local government leadership in contributing to national targets on climate change.

The conference will also provide sessions addressing the Sustainable Glasgow initiative, low carbon housing, reducing corporate emissions, sustainable travel, and engaging with communities in the transition to a low carbon economy.

The 2010 SSN Conference website is regularly updated with the latest information on the event. For further information, and to register, visit the conference website: http://www.sustainable-scotland.net/conference/
