Who We Are

Lindsay Moss

lindsay mossHi I'm the Administration / Support worker with TSS. I'm responsible for all the book keeping and claims to the Climate Challenge Fund. I support the staff team on many levels from compiling their expenses claims, writing correspondence, representing TSS at green fairs, to helping organise national gatherings and many other roles in between.

I have recently undertaken a Communities Audit of Transition Initiatives, supplying a foundation for the Resources for Communities Worker (Emily) to build upon and expand.

Personally i'm currently trying to grow my own vegetables in my back garden, one day I will feed myself from the produce I have grown.

Eva Schonveld

eva schonveldI'm originally from an arts background, and began working on environmental issues in 1992. I was a founder member of PEDAL, Portobello's Transition initiative in 2005, and got involved in telling people about Transition over the next few years.

Now I co-ordinate TSS, organising events, visiting community groups, working with other organisations and managing the project and team. I'm available to come out to do a talk or workshop on Transition, and am always happy to have chat on the phone or via email if there's anything Transition related you'd like to talk about - from how to start a new group, to dealing with conflict in your current group, to who to speak to about setting up a new project. Meeting local groups is my favourite part of my job, as it's (almost always) so inspiring!

My work with TSS is crazily busy, but I love it!

Emily Watts

Emily WattsI'm the new Resources for Communities worker with Transition Scotland Support. I'm doing a couple of things over the next few months. I'll be collecting information about the types of projects, approaches and experiences folk are having, for case studies to share with communities. I'll also be offering to work with communities on specific projects around re-skilling, or training events .If there's demand, I'll be looking at developing a mentoring scheme. I'm organising a Health and Wellbeing event in the late Autumn 2010.

I'm also offering 'city skills' and 'rural skills' workshops to look at how where you live affects what path you take to sustainability, and what your resources are. These will feed into an 'Urban Gathering' and a meeting which looks at how different types of setting can support one another.

One of the other things I'd like to try and do is to gather people's individual stories about why and how they got involved in projects fro sustainable living, and what their view of the future is. I forsee this as a network project, where people's tales link and lead on to one another and give the whole thing a really human aspect.

Luci Ransome

luci ransomeHi, my work is mostly with 3 vulnerable communities on the West coast of Scotland to see what aspects of Transition are relevant or can be adapted to suit each locale. This last year has seen a lot of learning about the importance of building resilience through sustainability to these communities.

I am actively involved with Transition in Glasgow where I live and Towards Transition Glasgow where we are designing events for the City and adding into the development of the City Council's Climate Change Strategy.

I love growing food, swimming and more recently have taken up sailing and playing the Ukelele, but not yet at the same time...yet!

Fiona Thomson

I'm the Resources and Communications support worker for Transition Scotland Support and I spend my time developing and updating the Transition Scotland website, answering website enquiries and sending out the monthly news.

I also look after the DVD lending library and buy up new films and documentaries when anything interesting comes out.

When I am not behind a computer screen I enjoy taking an active part in transition gatherings and meeting up with folk all over the place and hope to do much more of that in the coming months.
